Angel Otero (b. 1981, Santurce, Puerto Rico) received a BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Most recently, presentations of Otero’s work have been organized at Lehmann Maupin, New York, Seoul, and Hong Kong (2021, 2019, 2018, 2016, and 2015); Harper’s, East Hampton (2020); Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx (2017); and Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2016). Otero’s work is held in numerous public collections including the Guggenheim Museum, New York; Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Istanbul; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City; and, and Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Overland Park, KS. Otero lives and works in New York City and Puerto Rico.
