Brad Phillips (b. 1973, Esztergom, Hungary) is a Toronto-based artist and writer known for work inclusive of subjects such as shame, addiction, mental illness, and sexuality. Phillips has received awards from the British Columbia Arts Council; Canada Council for the Arts; and Toronto Arts Council. His visual artwork has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, most recently at de boer gallery, Los Angeles; Harper’s, New York and East Hampton; Anat Egbi, Los Angeles; Jonathan Hopson, Houston; and Allen & Eldridge, New York. Phillips’ work has been acquired by numerous public collections including the Glenbow Museum, Calgary; Capital Group Collection, Toronto; and Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto. His first book of short stories, Essays and Fictions, was published in 2019 by Tyrant Books. He is a regular contributor to Autre and Purple.
