Joel Mesler (b. 1974, Los Angeles) received an MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 1999. Over the past two decades, Mesler has worked as both an art dealer and artist, having owned and operated several galleries in Los Angeles, New York, and most recently, the Hamptons. Recent solo exhibitions include Guild Hall, East Hampton (2025); Nassima Landau Art Foundation, Tel Aviv (2025); A Hug From the Art World, New York (2025 and 2019); Rockefeller Center, New York (2024); Château La Coste, Provence, FR (2024); Lévy Gorvy Dayan/LGDR, New York, Hong Kong, London, and Palm Beach (2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021); Cheim & Reid, New York (2023); The Long Museum, Shanghai (2023); David Kordansky Gallery, Los Angeles (2023 and 2021); and Harper’s, New York (2020 and 2018). His work has been acquired by institutions, including Dallas Cowboys Art Collection, Arlington, TX; K11Art Foundation, Hong Kong; The Long Museum, Shanghai; Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, FL; and Zuzeum Art Centre, Riga, LV. Mesler lives and works in Sag Habor, NY.
